United States of Separation

We’ve been talking about politics talking about freedom
Looking for the answers when we’re trapped inside the kingdom
The land of the free the home of the brave
Not even the leaders know how to behave
But I’m not here to complicate I’m just here to contemplate
Everything we could do for each other to commemorate
All the people that have fallen to shorten our separation
And to take away the gap of this segregation

We threw away normal so let’s just be real
You gotta understand every human being can feel
We can feel what’s real look to intuition
We’re tryna find change and that’s the mission
No reason to retreat we’re looking for admission
Without looking to the wrong people for permission

Don’t you see we’re all the same
All the feelings and emotions that we try to tame
But they’re still there so what’s next?
Are we gonna look into the context?
Where can we find common ground?
I’m trying to find a way for the lost to be found
And when you understand that we’re all bound
By the same rules to keep us safe and sound
Then maybe we’ll be okay to play around
Without thinking twice about stereotypes and human rights
Without having to break out into all of these fights
Within ourselves, and throughout the nations
So then we can find our salvation.

A message to the people
I’m looking for the peaceful
I’m looking for the canvas so I can use my easel
I’m not looking for the evil instead for the equal
I’m looking for those who don’t want to be fearful

To live is to learn
To build is to burn
For what goes up must come down
Writing is my verb and poetry is my noun
I have a couple questions for a fucked up society
Sitting in the trial of life how do you plea
For what’s good for you might not be for me
But that doesn’t mean you’re wrong, that’s how it should be.

Let’s get straight to it, there’s a lot of wrong
And that doesn’t mean that we don’t stay strong
No, instead that means that we’re here for long
We’re looking for change and so we gather along
All of our pride and create our song
The song for generations to sing
And for generations to sting
As this will scar even the bravest of kin
But what really matters is what’s within
What lies inside of you lies inside of me
Blood water and nutrients is what we be
With feelings and emotions that help us feel free
Those can also be troubling
What happens when they’re bubbling
Burning with rage ready to take it out
When hundreds of years have filled us with doubt

So what is right and what is wrong?
For you to tell me I could just say you’re wrong
So we must stay together
And we must say together
That no matter the weather
We will not tether
For we are united although it might not seem
But the fire has ignited and so I scream
I scream for the people for without them we’re nothing
And you better find change, I promise no ones bluffing.
