Cotton Candy Skies

Cotton candy skies and a smile on my face
Family by my side when nobody can replace
The memories with photos and hands around our waist
Screaming for the promo: don’t let it go to waste

I hope you know although this ain’t the time or place
I’ll never feel I’m solo when I know it’s not too late
Sometimes I move in slowmo or I pick up on the pace
It’s not a race you know we’ll find out who and what it takes

To find a happy place, or at least one that’s worth the wait
It’s not too late to say I love you and I hope you catch a break
From countless loads of bullshit that keeps filling up your plate
I cry sometimes and when I can’t I’ll try and lie awake

Contemplating what’s the point if there’s no point to make
But it’s okay and it’s alright if you let yourself mistake
Cuts and bruises, late night cruises, find what helps to shake
Simply there’s no simple way to become someone great

But if you learn to face the mirror without turning away
You’ll learn you have somebody who’s really worth the wait
With some patience and some gratitude find a little faith
That no matter what’s in store, you’ll always love your fate
