No Reason to Settle

All the money you make, gifts that you take
The trees that you shake, or the leaves you rake
All the memories you make, hearts that you break
When you thought it impossible to shake and reshape

The moments were gone but never forgotten
The tokens we held on but lost in the closet
The moments move on and there’s no way to stop it
The hopeless find hope and watch them deposit

Choose your shoes wisely for the road less traveled
For the stones that you throw and get lost in the battle
For the boats that you row when you have no paddle
You’re the jury and the judge, the one with the gavel

We can’t ride to the sun as we set down our bags
We think all that we are is all that we have
Or all that we have is simply a fad
If cigarettes were music, I’d take more than a drag

Light up your problems, watch the smoke rise
If space is infinite then compare in your size
If we are limitless then there’s no compromise
No reason to settle as I look in your eyes
